Do roads decide where resorts open?

Gazipur, next to Dhaka, has become a weekend escape for city residents. With Ummul Momanin Coalee and Dr. Bibi Hafsa, I used graph theory to model the district's road network, scored each upazila's accessibility with the Shimbel index, and compared it with where resorts have opened. The best-connected upazila had by far the most resorts.

A lower Shimbel index means fewer steps to reach the rest of the network. Accessibility and resort numbers were related with an R² of 0.67.
